Committees

These are the DVSE Committees and their responsibilities for hosting the Soccer Cup:

Fundraising

Coordinates fundraising activities including the raffle
Solicit grants from businesses and organizations
Secures logos and banners from sponsors, hospitality sponsors and contributors (if available)
Assists Tournament coordinator in producing a Soccer Cup program

Hospitality

Organizes Welcome Picnic and Farewell Banquet/Evening Social
Arranges concessions at all playing venues
Organizes coupons and other elements of the Visitor Packet
Coordinates transportation and housing for Swede leadership and tourists
Coordinates official events for Swede leadership and tourists

Hosting

Assists families in preparing to host Swedish players
Coordinates activities for Swede tourists
Coordinates the identification and distribution of official gifts to the Swedes
Recruits chaperones for the Farewell Banquet/Evening Social
Arranges for name tags for all DVSE leadership to be worn at all official events

Tournament

Organizes and coordinates all tournament activities
Secures Arlington Soccer Complex and Public Schools Stadium
Recruits and schedules referees Recruits area teams
Secures trophies and medallions for teams and participants
Sets up separate areas for DVSE and Medical Headquarters

These are the primary activities associated with each committee. The DVSE Board is a working board that oversees each of these committees and coordinates other activities including identifying tournament and special event dates, publicity, maintaining the DVSE Web site, corporate fundraising, inviting dignitaries, recruiting players, ordering t-shirts and merchandise and arranging for team photos.

The DVSE Chair reserves the right to delegate organizing activity to any individual who has experience or capability of completing the work.
